Former President Donald Trump recently relayed to Maria Bartiromo of Fox News his dismay over Rep. Adam Schiff‘s many lies.

He talked about how Mr. Schiff went before Congress with his own version of the conversation that took place between himself and the president of Ukraine.

Mr. Trump said politicians can say anything they want and get away with it, but with all due respect, he is wrong. The declassified transcript was a government document.

What Mr. Schiff did by changing the declassified transcript to make up his parody was a violation of the law. He then introduced the falsified document into House records. According to law, he had immunity to do so, but at that point he had already forged the document and tampered with evidence, actions that are criminal.

The punishment under the U.S. code: a fine and imprisonment of up to five years.

Mr. Schiff belongs in prison, not running for senator.
