The origin of SARS-CoV-2, the agent that causes the disease COVID-19, remains a mystery to the public. But there are purportedly a few high up in government and scientific communities well aware of its genesis.

An amply referenced, powerful expose has just been released that names names and provides minutiae on the machinations surrounding the worst pandemic in modern times.

In “The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History,” Andrew G. Huff, former EcoHealth Alliance vice president and senior scientist, details his coming forward “as a material witness and whistleblower related to SARS-CoV-2.”

The book is quite engaging, providing the infectious disease epidemiologist’s personal accounts of his pertinent military and academic training to begin and ending up with the application of his experience and learning to virus research and business opportunities and, unfortunately, to eventually defense of his property and reputation from nefarious government and academic actors.

Said actors include, in addition to named individuals, government operations within the FBI and CIA along with exceptionally influential global organizations such as the World Economic Forum, which met last week in Davos, Switzerland.

After initial chapters establishing Mr. Huff’s background and integrity in science, the remaining chapters in “The Truth About Wuhan” contain an insider’s view of working for EcoHealth Alliance; a damning critique of models and techniques used to hunt coronaviruses; a reasoned aversion to “gain of function” research; the real COVID-19 timeline; China and U.S. culpability in the virus mayhem; and the multifarious, direct attacks used by the federal government to harass and discredit Mr. Huff.

Relative to the actual virus origin and timeline, according to the author, “SARS-CoV-2 leaked from the [Wuhan Institute of Virology] laboratory as early as August 2019. The probable cases detected in Italy in 2019 make sense as Italy is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the Chinese. The confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Italy in October 2019 further support this scenario. By mid-October 2019 the disease was likely already on every continent except Antarctica. The DoD, along with militaries globally, detected the disease in their countries’ service members that attended the Military World Games in Wuhan. Trying to avoid global panic, governments began to implement response plans, which included the U.S. government’s mobilization of the mRNA SARS-CoV-2 gene therapy.”

In the penultimate chapter “Why Does the Cover-Up Continue?” a proposed reasonable answer is given as to the unreasonable COVID-19 origins mystery. The answer involves a variety of beneficiaries in the health care field.

The final chapter of “The Truth About Wuhan” delineates many actions that can be taken “to prevent a man-made pathogen from causing another pandemic.” In addition to recommendations against the gain of function research and other dubious laboratory work, the chapter proffers “[c]ontributing factors to a successful public health infrastructure.”

These factors include, in order of importance: Potable water (and I would add breathable air), food and nutrition, shelter, energy, sanitation, education, health care systems, and lastly medical technology.

Overall, “The Truth About Wuhan” substantiates more reasons why the public has become so skeptical of science and government, and especially of ruling-class scientists.

And with all the excessive hostility toward Mr. Huff revealed in “The Truth About Wuhan,” the old saying seems quite applicable: “If you’re taking flak, you’re over the target.”
